IPL 2012 Auctions

For those who are not familiar of the word ‘Auction’, it is nothing but commonly called bidding. In Indian premier league it plays a great role because most of the times it decides which player will play for which team. The one who gives the best performance (especially in IPL matches) will probably have higher demand and thus have highest bidding. There were total 10 franchises take part in last year IPL and this time it is highly expected that they will remain same. Actually the IPL 2012 auction is decided to be held on 4^th February.


The best thing about 2012 IPL auction is that the squad size has been increased this time. At previous auction it was 30 including 10 foreign players but this time it is 33 including 11 foreign players. The 2012 auction is considered as quite favorable for the franchises and this is mainly because of the reason that most of the franchises demands that each team will play with each other twice, and in this auction the demand of franchises is considered by the governing council of IPL 2012. In the 2012 auction of IPL the players who are expected to have competitive bid among the franchises are Mahinder Singh Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Muttiah Muralitharan, Mahela Jayawardene, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and some others.

However, few franchises are not satisfied with the increase of the squad size because they have to pay more amount to them, but the governing council of IPL is claiming that it would be beneficial and some of the extra players also get a chance to take part in the IPL.  This time the franchises are allowed to add maximum four players through trading to their squad. Actually the concept of making the foreign players as well as Indian players to play in one team has worked quite well for IPL and it is said that this is the leading reason that made IPL to get good TRP.

According to some sources, the Pakistani cricketers are also a part of 2012 IPL auction, and in addition to them lot of domestic Indian players will also get a chance to be a part of this bid. It is said that this time the franchises will probably have an eye on the last year auction results because the result of last year auction of IPL was considered as good as most of the players give better performance than their bid.


Actually a lot of cricket fans focus on the auction of IPL because it makes them excited that which player is playing for which team and if there is any change in the team of a player. That is why people obviously get more excited.
